Summer Getaway

Summer Getaway

Chanel vintage bag Samantha Wills bracelet set | Schutz sandals | Céline sunglasses | Triangl bikini | 2020 Ave skirt | Jane Norman hat | Dior nail polish | KORA Organics tinted cream

Summer outfit inspiration for me while I'm in South America enjoying the sunshine. Hope this is helpful for those of you lucky enough to be going on holiday to a warm and sunny destination too!

Forever New dress (similar here and here) | Giuseppe Zanotti heels (similar here) | Forever New bag | Coach bangle | Dogeared rings

As you've seen, most of my looks tend to be either casual or dressed up. I don't work (as I'm a full time athlete and study part time), so I don't own many clothes that could be considered 'work attire'. But if I did, this is probably along the lines of how I'd dress. Forever New have some great dresses at the moment in prints similar to this one that are perfect if you're trying to steer away from black in your work wardrobe. They're relaxed and colourful, yet still professional for the workplace. Just be sure to wear simple accessories so you don't overdo it!

Dresses like this are also perfect for daytime occasions that require getting more dressed up than usual. I wore this to a baptism and also to an event where I was a guest speaker. You can't really go wrong with a nice printed dress. While black is great and works for most of us, there is nothing wrong with injecting a bit of colour every now and then to keep things bright and interesting.

Toby Heart Ginger crochet shorts | All About Eve crop tee | Jean-Michel Cazabat wedges | 10 Bells bag | Etsy and Tiffany bracelets

I am beyond glad that the weather is still warm and sunny at the moment. It means summer hasn't quite ended, so neither has my affinity for denim shorts. This cute little pair take denim cutoffs to a whole new level though. The crochet poses a perfect contrast to the distressed detailing, making these shorts effortlessly easy to style. Pair them with a floral printed top like me, a shirt or blouse to create a feminine look, or opt for a tee or tank if you're style is more relaxed.

Cropped tops aren't for everybody, so here are some other tops I'd pair with these gorgeous bottoms.

Sabo Skirt dress | Jean-Michel Cazabat wedges | Bracelets (old) | Dogeared rings

You really can't go wrong with a cute summery dress. It can sometimes be hard for me to find the perfect print and the perfect cut to flatter my body though. I love fit and flare dresses for a casual daytime look and this one from Sabo Skirt ticks all the boxes. I bought this dress towards the end of summer but I've already worn it to death. I particularly love the daisy trim detailing!

Cost per wear is a big thing for me. I prefer to buy items that I know I will wear over and over, can mix and match with other items, or can style in multiple ways. I love shopping from Sabo Skirt because their products are relatively cheap and I've never been disappointed with their quality. Even dresses like this can be restyled to create a completely different look.
While the weather is still warm and balmy, I'd pair this dress with heels for a slightly more dressed up look, or alternatively I'd go with flats if I didn't want to wear heels or wedges. When it starts to get cooler, knit jumpers can be thrown over dresses like this or a denim jacket would look great on top too. Also, a cropped blazer is another way to pull off a more dressed up look.

Pretty much anybody can wear a pretty little dress. Fit and flare might not be your style but there are plenty of other options out there with lots of prints to choose from.

Please Don't Take My Sunshine Away

13 March 2014

All About Eve crop tee | Zara shorts (similar here) | Forever New crossbody bag (similar here) | Forever New cut out flats | Samantha Wills bracelet | Tiffany & Co. heart bracelet | Burberry sunglasses

Here I am out and about in my typical summer getup again - denim shorts, crop top and crossbody bag. Nothing beats easy and relaxed weekend style. I took these photos a little while ago and now, looking back, it's hard to believe that my denim + crop top days are numbered as summer is finally coming to an end. I'm going to miss bikinis, the beach and of course eating ice-cream in bikinis on the beach. All good things must come to an end though. Time to start embracing the layers!

These floral and flirty scallop hem shorts are the perfect way to add a playful twist to any outfit. The print is gorgeous and I could easily wear these shorts from summer through winter too. High waisted shorts are always flattering and can be paired with a simple white tee or top with cutout detailing like I've done. I've also stuck to simple whites in my shoes and accessories so that the shorts are the main focus. Wearing brights couldn't be any easier!

Bec & Bridge tank | By Johnny skirt (similar here) Zu heels | Coach gold bangle

I bought this top a while ago because I loved the colour and the sheer silk fabric but I just couldn't seem to find anything to wear it with. I didn't want to pair it with black on the bottom because I thought it would look too dull and take away from the pretty pop of pink on top. This left me with few other choices, so it hung in my wardrobe for a good month before this piece of petaled perfection arrived at my doorstep.

By Johnny has to be one of my favourite designers. His mini skirts are to die for and the quality of his fabric is amazing. I love wearing patterned or statement skirts because they look great with basic tops such as a sheer cami or cropped top and they can often be dressed up or down. I also love how girly and feminine this pattern is and because it's almost stunning enough to wear on it's own, only a touch of subtle jewellery is needed to complete the look.

Sabo Skirt

29 October 2013

I'm currently crushing on the latest lookbook by Sabo Skirt. I love these pictures! Every photo is gorgeous and the borders are equally beautiful. Sabo Skirt has to be one of my favourite online shopping destinations. Not only are the clothes affordable but it's also my one stop shop when it comes to buying cute and comfortable pieces. The girls at Sabo never fail to produce original and pretty pastel prints all year round. Their products are so different to anything else I can find at the shops or even online and they have a uniqueness that stands out from many other brands. Not only am I obsessed with Sabo Skirt but I've also managed to get my sisters hooked too. The most difficult thing for me now is controlling myself when it comes to adding nearly every item to my shopping cart!

Shakuhachi playsuit | Tony Bianco heels | Mimco bag | Forever New belt

This could quite possibly be the cutest little playsuit ever! I had my eye on this organza daisy print number for ages last season until I got it for Christmas. Since the cold weather is starting to kick in, I couldn't not dedicate a post to it before summer well and truly disappears.

Flowers & Hide

23 April 2013

What happened to the sunshine?! The past few weeks have brought nothing but rain and it's been freezing cold too. Last time I checked it's not winter just yet! Given that I'm still wearing elements of my summer wardrobe though, it's probably not that cold, but I'm struggling to let go of the warm weather all the same.

As it was such a nice day on Sunday (and after having to put up with seeing countless amounts of photos from fashion bloggers from Coachella all week long), I had the urge to wear this somewhat festival inspired outfit. It looks super cute paired with my colourful floral cuff and flower painted nails. Now all I need is for the sunshine to stay...at least for a little while I hope.
